Supp thugsss with snapbacks ;) - Email 12.31.12

What's going on everyone?! Merry late christmas!! Hope you all had some time to think about your savior and to serve someone in need!! Sorry I haven't been able to email or write you guys, I straight up have had zero time to do anything but preach the word guhfran!! :) (preach it gurlllllll)

So these past weeks, where do I begin? So much has happened. Miracles left and right and I feel so close to my Heavenly Father and His Spirit. He has blessed me in so many ways I can't even begin to comprehend. So this week we had a bunch of people yell at us...I got to talk to my family for the first time in 4 months...i weighed myself for the first time in 4 months (not too shabby for a missionary)...we were condemned to hell by an 80 year old woman...i got proposed to...we tried to teach a woman who apparently had alzheimers and we didn't know it until it was too late haha....and so much more!! Oh and I got a new companion...he's hot, write him. Sike. Love him to death, his name is Elder Byrd and we are excited for this transfer. So many good times out here where there is a reason its called a "tooth"brush and not a "teeth"brush.

I want to take some time to tell you about how much a appreciate the Holy Spirit in my life. Before my mission I knew what the spirit was and kinda what it felt like but I took it for granted. The gift of the Holy Ghost is the right to have the companionship of the third member of the God head at all times and in all places...and I never wrapped my head around this blessing until I started to truly seek it. Now I know that it is the greatest blessing in my life and it is the only way we can be successful as mortal human beings and return to our Heavenly Father's presence again.

I also want to explain to you all how much I love the Book of Mormon. The Book of Mormon if we "prayerfully read it" will do at least three things for us.
1. It will bring the Holy Spirit into our hearts in a more added measure
2. It will strengthen our resolutions to be obedient to the commandments of God
3. It will strengthen our testimony that Jesus Christ is the Lord and Savior of the world and that He lives.
The Book of Mormon has an amazing way to simply teach the doctrine of Christ and His atonement and it will bring us nearer to our God. I know it as deeply and as firm as I know Liverpool to be the greatest football club in the world. :) sikeeee. But honestly, the Book of Mormon has an amazing power about it that I can't explain, all I know is that it does have the power to change lives because it testifies of Jesus Christ. Let it change you and don't worry about what other people will think. Ultimately you will have to stand before your creator and account to Him. Will He be proud of you?

Which leads me to my next point. As members of the church, if you are reading this...when you were baptized, you took upon yourself the name of Jesus Christ and promised to become more like Him. You promised to represent Him well. What an honor and what a privilege. What a sacred covenant that we have made with Him. My next question to you is, are you ashamed that you took upon His name? Do you live like you are ashamed of it, or do you honor it and share it with the world? Think about it. Is Heavenly Father "well pleased" with you, like He is when he introduces His son? "This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased". My point is to seek out the approval of your Father in Heaven and then you will not need to worry about anything else. You will gain confidence, happiness and peace as you strive to do so. I promise you as a representative of Jesus Christ myself.

Well I love you guys!! I love my God, and I love my Savior and I love the Holy Ghost. I want you to all know that I firmly believe that all things are possible unto God if we have faith in Him. If we have faith in Him, "we shall have power to do whatsoever is expedient in Him". That's a promise from God.

Keep it real wherever you're reppin and always remember..."Return to your Father in Heaven with Honor"

Another transfer gone - Email 12.17.12

Wow, I can't believe how fast time has gone...Done with the twelve week training program and am on to my 3rd transfer out in Oklahoma. I feel like I should still be in my first couple of weeks. You don't get the hang of missionary work....ever...partially because the Lord humbles you and partially because the Lord humbles you.

So anyways, Elder Jacobson left me today. He completed all 2 years of his mission. Crazy, it was so weird to send him home. Glad I am not in his shoes, phew ;) And if you're reading this elder jacobson, you are one of the worst drivers known to the human race...love ya man :). So I am getting a new companion this wednesday and his name is Elder Bird, or Byrd...not really sure yet, but he is a youngin just like me. He has only been out for one transfer and I have been out for two. Then in our district, there is Elder Ravsten who has been out for 3 and then he is also training a brand new missionary. Not too much exxperience, but we are all excited because we know when we put our trust in the Lord and His work, He will teach us and guide us to "those who will receive us". The key this transfer is to "get the lid off". Here's what I mean.

So I heard a story in the MTC about fleas (you can also look this up on youtube: fleas in a jar). When you put a bunch of fleas in a jar without a lid on them, they will jump right out. If you put a lid on them, they will hit the top of the lid and after awhile, they will learn that it hurts and they will compromise and jump just high enough to where they don't hit the top of the lid. After they have compromised, when you take the lid off, they will continue to jump the same height as if the lid were still on. They won't jump out. The weird thing is that when those fleas have babies, there babies will also only jump as high as their parents as if the lid was on. However, if you put brand new fleas in the jar, then those brand new fleas will jump right out. What's the moral of the story? STOP PUTTING LIDS ON OURSELVES AND OUR POTENTIAL! Take your lid off and trust the Lord and His promise that "If ye have faith in me, ye shall have power to do whatsoever is expedient in me" (Moroni 7). Everyone always says, well if God wills it then anything is possible...well duh, He is God. Do we truly believe it though? Think about that, and then also think about whether or not there is a lid on your potential. If there is, exercise some faith and get that lid outta there!! Put your trust in the Lord and He will take care of you. He knows your needs and desires, all we have to do is put our trust in Him and ask and we "shall receive".

I know that the Lord truly loves and knows each one of us personally. He is looking forward to answering all of our prayers. I know that all things are possible unto Him. Just put your faith in Him and never "turn to the left, or right". Miracles will happen, its completely 100% okay to EXPECT miracles to happen. Believe!!

I love all you guys and I am excited for Christmas, what are you going to do to help someone else out this year that needs help? I look forward to hearing from you all everyday, don't disappoint and don't be lazy ;) haha jkkk!! Keep on truckin and remember "get the corn, outta your faces and take the lid off of your jar" GO DO HARD THINGS, go BE SOMEONE that the Lord wants you to be. :)

Love ALWAYS,

Elder Dallin Cutler

Roasted Round 2 - Email 11.10.12

YO!

This week was full of excitement!! The thrill of hanging over a toilet and puking your brains out!! EXHILARATING!! :) lawl. Okay but in all seriousness, I got sick this week on wednesday and just straight puked off 10 pounds, its whatever. Whatever keeps the weight off right?! ;) Sike. Well to top it all off Elder Jacobson is going home soon :( poor kid, we're gonna miss him, but he worked hard and now he must find a wife, haha and if you are reading this right now Elder Jacobson, remember our bet ;) 6 months.

This week has flown by. It seems like all weeks fly by. It seems like every transfer goes by a little faster each time, it sounds cliche, but I can't really explain it any other way. It really has been so great. This past week we kept getting dropped hard by different people we are teaching. Something that I have had to ponder about and just accept is that people really have the ability to choose, life or death, eternal happiness or eternal misery. We all have the gift of agency and sometimes it frustrates us as missionaries, but most of the time, it is such a great gift that God has all given us. To choose, what a simple concept.

I have learned so many things this week. Here's one thing that I am learning...

There are so many people in the world today. We are surrounded by friends and families but also by people who we have never met in this life. The cool thing is, before this life, we all knew each other. We all loved each other. We are all children of a loving Heavenly Father who wants the absolute best for us. Unfortunately, but mostly fortunately, He had to test us so that we could grow, He had to see if we would exercise faith in Him and be obedient to the way He wanted us to live to show if if we truly loved Him or not. Thankfully He has given us many tools to have faith in Him. He has given us prophets, scriptures, miracles, prayers to name a few. Most importantly, He gave His Only Begotten in the flesh. However, like i said earlier, we are given agency, and so there is "opposition in all things".

Heavenly Father allows for Satan to work on us, to tempt us because He knows that the only way to grow and become better is to be tested. However, satan is so subtle and so sly in everything he does. He opposes us in many ways. One of those ways is he distracts us. All he has to do is to distract us from our ultimate goal. He does that in many ways. I won't name them all, but seriously ask yourself, how has satan distracted you, because he has. He has distracted us all whether we want to admit it or not. I invite you to repent and turn back to God and self check yourself, it will only make you happier and who doesn't want that :)?

He also lies to us. He makes us feel comfortable. 2 Nephi 28 it talks about how satan lulls us into carnal securities. He makes us feel safe, or comfortable where we are. DON'T give in!! Here's what I am talking about. There are so many people in the world today who say "I am just trying to find my own path" or "I believe that there are many ways one can get to heaven, all religions are good and if we are good people, we will all go back to heaven" "I am comfortable where I am". Wrong. It's a lie. There is ONLY one way and the gateway is "strait" and the pathway is "narrow" (Matthew 6). Do not sell yourself short by thinking that there are many ways. That is deceiving, because truth is truth and light is light. There is no gray. There is truth and then there are lies. I encourage you all to seek truth. Don't sit back and be lulled into all these carnal securities that we have in this day and age. There is only one "truth and light" of the world and that is Jesus Christ. He has given us commandments that we must follow and He has given us the way in which we are to obey these commandments. Why then are people so okay with so many different denominations when there is only one way? Christ tells us that when He comes again, there will be "one fold". All I am saying is that we must seek the truth through prayer and scripture study. Do not be decieved by satan who will try and tell you that "all is well". If you truly BELIEVE in Christ, you will do EVERYTHING in your power to follow Him exactly how He has asked us "for straight is the gate and narrow is the path which leads to eternal life". Don't get too comfortable. :)

Well I love you all and want you to know that OKlahoma City is amazing and so are the people. :) I am so blessed to be out here assisting the Lord in His work to "gather His sheep". I know that the Church of Jesus Christ is once again restored upon this earth and that Christ leads it Himself through prophets and apostles in these latter days. I know that the Book of Mormon and the Bible to be the word of God because I have recieved a confirmation of such through the Holy Ghost as I prayed and sought truth. I leave my testimony and witness to all of you, hoping that you will always remember that I know that my Savior Jesus Christ lives. I love Him and knows He cares for us. In the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

Write me!! dallin.cutler@myldsmail.net (include your address and i will write you a letter) love yall!!
